The well preserved cellar rooms, presently housing a restaurant, are from the Gothic period. The Renaissance can be appreciated in the original painted beam ceilings of both the public premises and the guest rooms, whilst the entrance portal reminds us of the baroque reconstruction of the house. The facade is of great interest also due to its relation to Peter Brandl, a famous 17th century altar painter who was born and lived in the house. All further adaptations implied new architectural elements, with an outstanding importance of classicism.
The current appearance of the house faithfully preserves its historic character. In 1994-1995, the whole building underwent a demanding reconstruction and the following interiors opened to the public: a street floor restaurant and cafe with original painted beam ceilings, two-storey cellar restaurant with preserved gothic vaults and guest rooms with historic atmosphere exalted by original period furniture. | | Praha centrum - Malostranské náměstí - Nerudova - Hotel |
